I'm not sure how to address it on the page, but the twitter argument between Russians and Ukrainians over whether reporting AO3 was the right thing to do got really nasty. More context for Ukrainian reactions[5]. Ficbook only allows Russian language, forbids mentioning the war[6]. This tweet is garbled with machine translation, but I think it speaks to disgust that Russians are slow to acknowledge their government is in the wrong??

this fail_fandomanon exchange I think gets at some of the narrative problems with how the ban is portrayed: Russians focus on the action by the Ukrainian instead of on the Russian law that made it possible, and others ignore the involvement of the Ukrainian reporter because it's "embarrassing and inconvenient". This tweet from December from a different Ukrainian fan suggests there was some sort of ongoing discussion or shared view that Ukrainian fans continuing to write fan content in Russian for a Russian audience was a problem. I saw a tweet about український інфапростір (Ukrainian information space)[9][10]. I googled the phrase and it turns up in relation to Russian disinformation and Ukrainian attempts to combat it. So I'm guessing that part of Ukrainians' desire to keep Russians out of AO3 and promote Ukrainian is a fear that Ukrainians will otherwise be exposed to more disinformation (which Russia is using to try to win the war)?
