Swim For Brighter Days is a Steve/Danny story by zarah5.
Summary: Danny kisses Steve late on a Tuesday, early on a Wednesday. Steve punches him. (Set vaguely post-finale, so spoilers for that.)
Recs and Reviews
Why we love it: A first-time fic filled with raw emotion, sharp edges and great pacing. The realism of Steve's perspective and emotions gives this story a slightly dark atmosphere but there is a pay-off in the end. Beautifully rendered with language that is emotion filled but not the least bit flowery this is a very worthy read.[1]
My all time favourite 3 McDanno fics are these: Swim For Brighter Days [...] Why: Although I want to start with a warning for homophobic themes and words, I have to say that I really love this fic. It’s well written and has the perfect amount of angst.[2]Anonymous; What are your favourite McDanno fics? I'm craving for good fics!
