The Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards, better known as the Sunnydale Memorial or SunnyD Awards, were awards for fanfiction and fansites in the Buffyverse. Originally based on Geocities, the SunnyD moved in 2006. This may have coincided with Elisabeth coming on as webmistress. The awards were organized by LaDy SiN and Elisabeth; with Elisabeth also responsible for making Codes/Awards. The site was designed by Shannon.

When LaDy SiN created the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards, it started out as just a Yahoo Group. After several people asked for a website, she reluctantly tried to do one. I offered her suggestions at first since she was using Geocities. Then, since I had the time, I simply offered to create and maintain the website for her.[1]
Awards nominations were submitted by readers, and after nominations were announced, awards were voted for by readers. As a result, all nominations had to be accessible to all readers. Flocked works and NC-17 works on sites that required user registration to access adult fic were ineligible as a result.[2]

I know many of you may be new to the fandom world of Buffy fic and don't know some of the conditions regarding award sites. The most active of which is the Sunnydale Memorial Awards. A wonderful site with great people offering their time to showcase good fic.[2]
