A fanwork series refers to multiple interconnected works that usually follow one another in a sequential order.[1] Usually series are created by a single fan, but some series are the result of collaboration between multiple fans, where other fans contribute works with the permission of the original fan creator.
A series should not be confused with a multi-chapter fanfic or with a longfic, which are singular works.
