Spock: The Archetype that Would Not Die is a Star Trek: TOS 13-page zine by Walter Breen. It has a foreword by Marion Zimmer Bradley.
While it was written in 1977, it was not published until 1979: "For those of you (and we understand there are many) who also appreciate the STAR TREK universe, there is a lengthy essay by Walter Breen, entitled SPOCK: THE ARCHETYPE THAT REFUSED TO DIE. This was completed months ago but not in camera-ready form." [1]
A January 1978 mention by Jacqueline Lichtenberg in Ambrov Zeor #6: "Ho-hum, another ST article by an outsider? Don't kid yourself, this one is going to be very special. Walter is the compiler of the Darkover Concordance, author of The Gemini Problem, an analysis of the Darkover Series I use in the Sime Series, and in my opinion one of the most incisive observers of our time. He is an eminent and versatile scholar whose keen analytical mind adds excitement to what he analyses."
Everyone Gets the Title Wrong
Biographies get it wrong: "Spock: The Archetype Who Would Not Die." [2]
Early ads called it "Spock: The Archetype That Refused to Die."
