Sorkinfic is a term for fanfiction written for any media written/produced by Aaron Sorkin.[1] It generally refers to the television shows Sports Night, The West Wing, and Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. The implications of the term, that Sorkinfic is a genre, result from the fact that Sorkin's shows have strong thematic, stylistic, and structural similarities.[2]
Many fan writers who read or write fic for one Sorkin show read or write fic for another. The Our Boys site capitalized on this trend in 2001, archiving fic for both Sports Night and West Wing. Though Our Boys has since been lost to the tubes of the internet, In The Tall Grass, founded in 2003, is still up and running and accepting Sorkinfic of all kinds.
