The second in a (now) proposed trilogy of television shows by Aaron Sorkin about the production of American television, Studio 60 was a one hour drama based on the behind-the-scenes making of a sketch comedy show (ala Saturday Night Live), also titled Studio 60.

Due to being part of the Sorkinverse this show came with a built-in fandom and was hotly anticipated even before airing. Unfortunately, NBC also commissioned 30 Rock in the same season - a half-hour program written by Tina Fey, formerly of the real Saturday Night Live.

The show was widely considered a flop, especially in comparison to 30 Rock, though it is not without critical proponents who claim it is under-rated.
