The Slash Advent Calendar was a multi-fandom slash challenge/calendar run every December from 2002 to 2005. Founded by kira-nerys at Lady Kardasi Productions, it included works from fandoms such as Star Trek, Harry Potter, The Sentinel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In 2004, the challenge inspired the FemSlash Advent Calendar which is archived here. In 2006, with a new moderator, the Slash Advent Calendar became a purely Star Trek affair, the first in a series of Kirk/Spock Advent Calendars which then ran continuously until 2017, and was subsequently relaunched in 2022.

"Years ago, Kira set up a Slash Advent Calendar that she is passing along to someone else because it has become so successful and popular that it can no longer be handled by one person. In those early years, K/S played a big role in the calendar's offerings. We hope to recreate that with this new project, which was the idea of Kira herself."[1]

Starting in 2003, large portions of the Slash Advent Calendar hosting website were placed under password protection. As a result later years have not been archived. kira-nerys explained this as follows, and included a link to a Security Information page which enabled access to the necessary password and userid.

The SAC-2003 stories are password protected, because there are Harry Potter stories involved. Considering the fact that Harry Potter is a children's book and there are a lot of underage kids looking for Harry Potter stuff online, I see fit to keep all areas of my site where there is adult HP-fic password protected.[2]

No records have been found to date of anyone continuing the Slash Advent Calendar after 2005.

In December 2024, it was announced that the Slash Advent Calendar 2002-2005 would be moving to the Archive of Our Own as an Open Doors Project. The announcement included the following statement: "As the forerunner of a long term fandom institution, the Slash Advent Calendar is well worth preserving. (Open Doors would be delighted to help preserve the older Kirk/Spock Advent Calendars as well, if the moderators are happy to do so.)"[3] The import was completed in May 2025.[4]
