Lucius/Sirius is the Harry Potter pairing of Lucius Malfoy and Sirius Black.

Canon Relationship

The relationship of the characters in the canon is conflicted, mainly by the opposing sides of the war they chose to follow. Lucius Malfoy was part of the Death Eaters while Sirius was part of the wizard resistance on the light side. His cousin Narcissa Malfoy née Black married Lucius, begetting Draco Malfoy Harry Potter's rival among the plots of the book.

Fandom

There was fanfiction for this pairing as early as 2000.[1]

inell wrote the Lucius/Sirius drabble "In the Garden" in July 2004 in response to a prompt by jadarene.[2] From this story, inell developed the "Garden Theory" with help from jadarene and giina. The Garden Theory proposes a narrative where Sirius and Lucius started a sexual relationship while they attended Hogwarts together, and provides an AU scenario for Sirius surviving Order of the Phoenix.[3] While the Garden Theory was influential, fleshdress noted in her March 2005 essay for ship_manifesto that "inell’s take on the relationship ... is very different to how Lucius/Sirius is generally portrayed."[4]

inell started the LiveJournal community sirilu on July 2004 to promote the pairing. Another community, sirius_lucius, was started by bagoasalexander in January 2005.
