Some Excerpts
I wrote my first fic for the CATS fandom *blushes furiously* in early 1998. It was a trilogy I never quite got round to finishing, but feedback was good. Not nearly as helpful or detailed as that which HP fandom regulars have got used to by now, though. As for HP fanfic, I wrote "Slytherin Scores" in late 2001, about six months after I entered the fandom.
I'd say [that females dominate fan fiction], predominantly because fanfic tends to focus on exploring character, which in my experience a lot more women than men tend to find interesting enough to want to read or write about.
