The Silver Arrow Awards were awards given to Robin of Sherwood fanzine writers, editors and artists.
The first (only?) ones were given at Merries Weekend, which was sponsored by Robin of Sherwood North American Branch.
From A Shot in the Dark #12:
SILVER ARROW AWARD WINNERS!... at Merries Weekend this year we had our very first awards for excellence in ROS writing and artwork. We went classy for our awards. They were antiqued silver medals with a bow and three arrows and a target, suspended on a green and white ribbon. We wanted to show everyone just how Robin Hood fans really hit the bull's-eye with their quality of workmanship. The winners were: Best Zine - "Wolfshead" by Jody Lynn Nye, Best Newsletter - "Quarterstaff" by Mary Schmidt, Best Novella -"The Hooded Man" by Jenni Hennig, Best Short Story "Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream" by Deborah Linn (from the fanzine ALBION 1"), Best Long Story- "The Wheel Turns" by Cindy Fairbanks (from the fanzine LONGBOW 1"), Best Poet/Filker -"Limericks from A Tiny Acorn" by Lynn Taylor (from the fanzine LONGBOW 2"), Best Artist - Andrew Anderson for everything he has ever done (we have his prints for sale, check the merchandise list!) and Special Recognition-Mary Schmidt for hard work promoting Robin Hood Fandom. Congratulations to all of you and we hope to enjoy more of your work in the next year!
