Given the plot to this story, Triad probably did about as well as could be done with it. The ending hinges on a misunderstanding, a log entry read and taken wrong. I found that part of it unbelievable — that those two wouldn't talk, meld minds, or something to prevent separation. I found it even more unbelievable that McCoy would sit back and let it happen. Whatever sent Spock to Gol, it couldn't have been this.

SECOND SIGHT is, unfortunately, a lot of rehashing old story lines wherein Kirk ends up drunk, in bed with, Spock, believes they made love, is wrong, and all the ultimate confusion that follows. While the writing is adequate, even excellent at times, the story takes an abrupt turn from being light and frivolous to being heavy-handed. The ending of this one just isn't "in line" with the beginning. Some good ideas, but like Ms. Frost's "A Change of Season", this story could have used several more pages.
