Seamus Finnigan is a secondary character from the Harry Potter series. He is a Gryffindor and one of Harry's dormmates.
Canon Overview
Seamus is a half-blood wizard, the son of Mr. Finnigan, a Muggle, and Mrs. Finnigan, a witch which she revealed soon after they got married.
Seamus was a Gryffindor student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as the same year as Harry Potter. He was also the best friend of Dean Thomas. He eventually joined Dumbledore's Army, an organization taught and led by Harry Potter, after apologizing to Harry for doubting his claim that Voldemort was back. In 1997, he continued his seventh year at Hogwarts, although the school was under the control of Voldemort. Seamus was part of the restored Dumbledore's Army who ended up staying in the Room of Requirement to escape the Carrows. When Harry returned to the school in May of 1998, Seamus' face was so bruised he was unrecognizable until he spoke.
He fought bravely in the Battle of Hogwarts, saving Harry, Ron and Hermione alongside Luna and Ernie against the Dementors by casting the Patronus to hold them back[1], before Harry drove them away with his own.
He survived the Second Wizarding War and was seen sitting with Dean and Aberforth Dumbledore once the battle had ended. It is unknown what happened to him after the war.
