Sakusa Kiyoomi and Miya Atsumu have both been top volleyball players since their youth, and both appear at the Winter National Youth Training Camp with Kageyama Tobio. After the timeskip, they appear as core players on the MSBY Black Jackals professional volleyball team and also feature together on the Japan National Team which attends the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Primary interactions between the two involve Atsumu referring to Sakusa as "Omi-Kun" and "Omi-Omi." The two appear to have a teasing relationship full of banter and bickering, while simultaneously respecting each other as skilled players.
