This con was part of an organized series of annual national Beauty and the Beast fan gatherings held in North America.
A Description
From the con zine:
Can you believe that we've been doing this all these years? It boggles the mind! The shows been off the air - original episodes - for a decade and a half. But here we are - gathering yet again - to celebrate Ron Koslow's brilliant creation, and all the talented people, on-screen and off, who made that special world come alive for us.Our theme is "Remember the Magic." And how very Magical it was! Those incredible Friday nights with Vincent, Catherine, Father, Joe, Mouse, Mary, Elliot, Jamie, Diana, Jennie, Devin, William, the Tunnel Children - and on and on. The poetry, the music, the sets, the costumes, the lighting, the inspired scripts - every element of the program conspired to draw us in.
We became part of the Tunnel community; we became Helpers all. And we became a family ourselves. I still have nightmares about my long distance phone bills from those early years. The conventions were part of the magic - talking to the cast and crew, hearing their marvelous behind-the-scene stories; meeting friends we'd talked to and written to - what a gift! And buying 'zines, and art work, and 'zines, and photos, and 'zines, and dolls, and 'zines. You can probably guess what filled my home-bound luggage. (Sometimes the clothes got mailed.)
And here we are - Remembering the Magic - and mayhap creating a bit more in the process.
