painless_j is a Russian reccer and a creator/maintainer of thematic lists of fanfiction. She also wrote a useful 'how to' guide for creating thematic lists.
She is especially noted for her work in Harry Potter fandom, where she created a website of rec lists including dozens of themed lists with a wide variety of tropes, kinks and genres, including genderbending, Voldemort wins, memory charms, tattoos & piercing, slavery, soulbonds, sorting AUs, mpreg, epistolary fics, and many, many more.
She left Harry Potter fandom a while before going inactive and, for some time, recc'd mainly anime, manga (and yaoi fanworks thereof), and K-Pop.
