Oswald/Jim is the slash pairing of criminal Oswald Cobblepot and Detective James Gordon in the Gotham fandom.

Canon

In the first episode of Gotham, Gordon is tasked with killing Oswald by Don Falcone. He fakes Oswalds death, telling him to never return to Gotham.

These two characters continue to encounter each other as Oswald rises to power in Gotham's Underworld. Despite often working on opposite sides, Oswald often refers to Jim as his friend.

Fanon

This pairing appears almost exclusively in the Gotham fanon. The lack of interaction between Jim Gordon and Oswald Cobblepot in the Batman comics and other adaptions means that there are very few works with this pairing in other fandoms.

There are a surprising number of Fluff works in this fandom, considering the antagonistic relationship these characters have in canon. AU fics and College AU fics in particular are popular in this pairing. There are also Hurt Comfort fics, where one character helps the other recover after an injury.
