The Nimbasa Trio is a very popular gen (combi in Japanese) relationship in the Pokémon fandom. It's named after the three named residents of Nimbasa City in Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, which are Elesa (Kamitsure), Emmet (Kudari) and Ingo (Nobori). It is one of the most popular trios in the fandom to not involve any playable characters.

In the Japanese side of the fandom, the trio is known as ライモン組, meaning Raimon Group. Raimon is Nimbasa City's Japanese name.

Canon Background

Elesa runs the Nimbasa City gym as an Electric-type specialist. She is also a fashion model. Emmet and Ingo are twin brothers who run the Battle Subway, located in the center of the city. The three do not interact canonically within the games, though they do interact in the non-canonical Pokémon Masters, with their friendship being completely fanon.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, we learn Ingo was flung back to the past with near complete amnesia, not quite knowing he was ever a twin or that he ever lived in the present time.

Popular Tropes & Fanon

  • Post-Canon Pokémon Legends: Arceus: for works taking place after the events of the game, with Ingo returning to the present and having to re-learn who he was.
  • Amnesia Recovery: sub-trope of post-canon works.
  • Hurt/Comfort: for works with Elesa comforting Emmet after Ingo's disappearance from the present time and vice-versa.

  • A Quiet Return by CuzReasons, Archived version (2022), Emmet always thought that Ingo's return would be a big spectacle. He would be proven wrong.

You look frazzled. Is everything okay?” “It’s…” She pursed her lips. “How long have you been awake?” It wasn’t good to lie. However much he wanted to.
  • Emmet's Losing His Mind by SchezoLoverNo1, Archived version (2022), The day Ingo went missing Emmet knew immediately. Well, sort of.
  • April Showers by EVTrainingUniversity, Archived version (2023), (...)Or; after returning to the future, Ingo moves in with Emmet and Elesa. Months after, there's a particular struggle of his that Elesa wishes to help him with.
  • Fantastic Reception On These Things by the_zork (swiftishere), Archived version (2022), Above him, the white lightning of the tiny rift crackled. It landed on a few more announcements of missed messages and calls. Frowning in thought, he clicked one of the buttons on the side to see if it would do anything now. The text disappeared from the screen, and was replaced with a single message. Attempting to reconnect: Elesa…
