NHDA consists of a fictional Skype chat log between the characters Sawamura Daichi, Oikawa Tooru, Kuroo Tetsurou, Bokuto Koutarou, and Ushijima Wakatoshi, with some segments of prose interspersed throughout. The fic is notable for inspiring many other fics with similar premises of Haikyuu characters making group chats to talk about volleyball strategies and their personal lives.

As of May 2021, NHDA has been cited as inspiring 11 different fics on AO3.
