Naoya/Kazuya is a popular ship in the Devil Survivor fandom. In canon, the two are cousins and reincarnated brothers, having originally been Cain and Abel. Some fans prefer to refer to "Kazuya" as "Abel", due to him being renamable in-game.

Naoya/Kazuya is popular in both English-speaking and Japanese fandoms. Many fans come from Kazuya's describing Naoya as "handsome" and a large number of lines in-game being centred around Naoya, as well as Naoya's protective nature towards him. Many fans also take interest from them finding each other despite repeated reincarnations and Kazuya having no memory of his past life.

- Manipulation: Some fans read Naoya is a manipulator, trying to make Kazuya do what he wants. This is contested among different people's readings.
He trusted Naoya, and Naoya trapped them in there with the demons to turn Abel into one. If he was willing to do that to his own brother, then did he ever care about his student? How can they really be sure, dealing with such a practiced manipulator?
