-Shipping Name Origin

The ship has a relatively odd history. "HotRivalsShipping" was coined first on Bulbagarden sometime between 07 February 2010[Notes 1] and 02 August 2010.[1] However, many shippers didn't like the ship name[2] and "ChristmasColoredShipping" was both in use and popular among shippers by 18 April 2011.[3] The name was likely coined on DeviantArt and not the Bulbagarden forums, as it did not appear on the Neverending Romance ship list until 31 January 2015.[Notes 2]

ChristmasColored comes from N's hair being green and Silver's being red. HotRivals comes from both characters being fan favorites and bishounen-like.
