My Father, Taylor Hanson is a Hanson fanfic series written by Laura Speidell.
The series consists of seven books, although the author planned and wrote several more, and is something of a spinoff of her other series Brothers Till The End Of Time. As the author herself explains:
Kind of goes along with the "Brothers Till The End Of Time" series (Click here to go to the series, it will open in a new window). This new series was originally meant to be "Brothers Till The End Of Time" Part something-or-other but it evolved into a series of it's own, and I love it. I don't want to compress it into a Part who-knows-what of BTTEOT because I think it's great. It continues from "Brothers Till The End Of Time" Part ? (LoL) and you don't have to read that to understand the characters but there are some themes carried over from all of the BTTEOT chapters. Also, random note: BTTEOT Part 1 starts with the birth of Zachary, BTTEOT Part ? shows a dramatic change, and this "part" (which turned into this series) shows an even more dramatic change. Once again, you can catch the drift of the characters without reading BTTEOT but if you have time read the chapters from that story. I still have more "Daddy-Taylor" books to post and I am writing more books in this series all the time. I hope you like them!
Although this series does show some of Zac's struggles, the primary focus is on Taylor and his fictional family. At the time the series was written, Taylor had not yet become a father; the series takes place in 2009 and makes a number of predictions about Hanson's future.
Reactions and Reviews
I’ve noticed a trend of authors who seem to care more about some idea they’re in love with than actually telling a story. That seems to be the biggest problem with My Father, Taylor Hanson. Lots of things happen, but I have trouble feeling connected to any of them, and I’m left wondering what the point is. A story about Taylor as a father (written before he actually was one, to boot) could be very interesting, but this story just isn’t.[1]
Awards
My Father, Taylor Hanson won awards in the TP Hanfic Awards and was nominated for awards in the Hanspirational Fan Fiction Awards.
