Murder Husbands is a term which arose from the Hannibal (TV Series) fandom. The pairing of Will Graham/Hannibal Lecter was known as Murder Husbands by fans, and they were even referenced as such in canon. Within the same fandom the femslash pairing of Alana Bloom/Margot Verger was referred to as Murder Wives by the fandom.

Murder Husbands began as a pairing name to describe the relationship between a serial killer and another murderer. It was later used as a tag for similar ships and is common in pairings where both characters are murderers or villains.

Increasingly Murder Husbands AUs or Serial Killers AUs are appearing, wherein characters who are not canonically killers are portrayed as such and paired together.
