Murder Wives is a fannish term affectionately used to refer to a number of different femslash pairings. Like the equivalent term Murder Husbands, it originated in Hannibal fandom, and is used as a nickname for the ship Alana Bloom/Margot Verger (Marlana).
Since then, it has become a more widespread panfandom nickname for various ships whose characters are murderers or villains, either in canon or in an AU.
Other Fandoms
- Eve Polastri/Villanelle (Villineve) from Killing Eve is often referred to as "Murder Wives", as the ship pairs an MI5 agent with a notorious assassin.
- Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy (aka Harleen Quinzel/Pamela Isley or Harlivy) from the DC Universe, which pairs two supervillains, is also referred to as "Murder Wives".
