Mtoto is a semi-canonical character from the universe of The Lion King, and the cousin and best friend of Simba. His one and only reference is in an issue of The Lion King: A Nature Fun and Learn Series, a magazine tie-in released from 1995 to 1997. As a result, he's obscure even by 'semi-canonical Lion King character' standards, and no information, other than his name, and him being the cub of Sarabi's sister, is given.
Fandom
Because there is so little information provided in the source texts, when he is included his appearance and personality will often differ from fan to fan, though there may be somewhat of a resemblance to Simba, to an extent, due to their relation. His mother will usually be one of the three omitted sisters of Sarabi from the original film: Naanda, Diku, or Dwala. There doesn't appear to be a skew in the fandom as to which one.
