Mohatu is a semi-canonical character from the universe of The Lion King. His first and only appearance is in the 1994 book The Brightest Star, and he is the great grandfather of Simba.

Mohatu predominantly resembles his grandson Mufasa, but with a darker fur and mane colour.

The fandom often differs on whether Ahadi or Uru is his offspring, and other headcanons regarding the appearances (fur colour, eye colour etc) of these two characters will often be influenced by this.
The Selfish Lion will often be portrayed as either a relative (often brother[1]) due to his strong resemblance to Scar, or his former best friend.
