Merlin RPF is a fanworks archive and community for the Merlin RPF fandom.[1] It originally started on LiveJournal in 2008 before adding a Dreamwidth community in 2011[2] and an AO3 collection in 2013.[3]
The founder, moonilicious, created the community in October 2008 soon after the TV show Merlin began airing on the BBC. They moderated the community until January 2012 when they passed it on to Alby Mangroves, who subsequently passed on mod-ing duties to Mrs Leary in March 2016. moonilicious also ran the Merlin RPF Big Bang Challenge in 2010.
Fanwork fests have been run in the community each year since 2015, with two Mini Bangs and the rest Prompt Fests.
The Bradley James/Colin Morgan pairing is the Juggernaut Ship in Merlin RPF fandom. This LJ community was explicitly open to including any or all of the cast - and there was a specific bradleycolin LJ community set up in December 2008. However, the tags indicate that "pairing: bradley/colin" was used 432 times in the merlinrpf community, with the next most tagged ships being: "pairing: angel/bradley" with 33 uses; "pairing: colin/other" with 23 uses; and "pairing: bradley/other" with 17 uses. The Femslash "pairing: angel/katie" has 15 uses.
As of January 2021, the LiveJournal community had 1713 members.
