Excerpts

How long have you been writing fan fiction and/or making fan art and/or whatever else (vids, knitted goods, pornographic gingerbread cookies)?

Either 17 months, or almost a decade. The first thing I ever wrote and posted was a post-ep to the S4 finale of SGA back in March '08, but there's definitely some, um, Harry Potter-inspired fan poetry lurking on my hard drive from high school, and way back in middle school I was mentally vidding a Mulder/Scully 'shipper vid to Celine Dione's "Because You Loved Me". So sad that these fannish endeavors were never shared with the world.

What do you enjoy most about SGA and/or SGA fandom?

My favorite thing about SGA is its amazing potential as a source for stories, and my favorite thing about the fandom is how we take that potential and explore it to its fullest. (Sometimes with sexy results, even!)

If you could be any character in any of your fandoms, who would it be and why?

Ooooh, good one! My first instinct is to say Dana Scully or Hermione Granger]], but that's kind of cheating since I'm just picking the ones I'm most like already. I think it would be fun to be Bertie Wooster for a bit: I'd get to be a good sort of chap, have a few adventures but never be in any real danger, and have an elegant valet constantly shimmering in to save me from the soup and stave off any accidental engagements. Quite nice, that!

What is your favorite McShep cliché?

Oh, man, I love me some "Oh noes, we have to share a bed now" fic (I think the cliche square is "sleeping arrangements"?). "Huddling for warmth" is good in a pinch, but in sleeping-arrangements fic, you don't even get the hypothermia excuse for the accidental nighttime cuddles -- it's pure, unadulterated, "my subconscious wants me to spoon with you" joy.
