Looking for a Place to Happen is a Kirk/Spock story by waketosleep. It was written for the 2009 Star Trek Big Bang. The fanart is by harrysde[1] and moriann created a fanmix.[2]
Summary: In a timeline where the Vulcans never allowed Earth freedom from their oversight, Jim Kirk doesn't fit in. All he needs to get away is a fast ship and a crew as crazy as he is; luckily, some things are universal constants.
In this story Kirk and Spock steal a ship and they become space pirates.
Looking for a Place to Happen is a continuation of The Sky Was Made for Us Tonight[3] which was posted three months earlier and was later included as the prologue to Looking for a Place to Happen.
