Larxene is a member of Organization XIII in the Kingdom Hearts series.

Canon background

Larxene was first introduced in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (2004) as an antagonist, and works to manipulate Sora into falling for Organization XIII’s attempt to rewrite his memories.

She makes a few minor appearance in 358/2 Days (2009) in the Organization’s rec room during the early days of Roxas’s time with the group, and teaches him how to use magic.

The mobile game Kingdom Hearts: Union X establishes her backstory as a Keyblade Wielder from the distant past, and reveals her “true name” of Elrena. The game reveals that she was friends with Strelitzia, the younger sister of Marluxia.

In Kingdom Hearts III (2019), she returns from the dead and serves as the member in Master Xehanort’s new Organization.

Fanon and tropes

Larxene's "true name" (her name prior to becoming a Nobody and joining the Organization) was a common subject of speculation among the fandom. Common suggestions for her true name included Relena, Elenar, Arlene, etc. This speculation died out in 2018 after a story update for the Union X mobile game introduced her younger self and gave her name as Elrena.
