Justin/Trent, also known as Trustin, is a common rarepair within Total Drama fandom. The ship is between Justin and Trent, both semi-prominent characters. Although it has been shipped since 2007, it only became common to ship around 2021 following a Renaissance within the fandom at large, particularity for its Slash pairings.
Justin/Trent is Justin's biggest ship overall and Trent's biggest Slash one. Heather/Justin used to be Justin's biggest, and Gwen/Trent has more fanac than Justin/Trent.
As of October 2023, over 65 works on Archive of Our Own are of Justin/Trent. On FanFiction.Net, only one fic seems to exist for the pairing[1]. The ship is more likely to be seen fanworked into visual mediums, fanart, fanvids, etc, than fanfiction.
Common Tropes
- The Drama Brothers!Justin and Trent: In the show, Justin, Trent, Cody and Harold formed a boy band known as The Drama Brothers. Fanworks may have their relationship start here. Them having a secret relationship is common.
- Odd Contestants Out: Both Justin and Trent are the only Male contestants to have participated in Total Drama: Action, but have near to no role during Total Drama: World Tour. Fanworks may have them bond over this.
- Opposites Attract: Justin admits to not using his head for much of anything during Action, relying on his looks to get by. Meanwhile, Trent canonically has OCD. Fanworks may emphasize these differences or explore how Justin could also have OCD-like behaviors.
- Hurt/Comfort: Common in fanfiction for these two, especially since both are often considered to have low self-esteem.

The pairing was included in Total Drama Dundie, a fake press release for Total Drama created in 2017 by a fan on Tumblr.
Trustin Spa Anon?
Around 2021, an anonymous user on Tumblr DMed many artists in Total Drama fandom to draw Justin/Trent in a spa together. The absurdity of the requests, and the requests themselves, bordering on harassment, was widely memed on Tumblr.

Think about it, Trustin spa. It is right inside Justin’s element but is completely foreign to Trent. It can allow for some great interpersonal conflict, as Trent finds himself fighting against Justin. And they’re in a spa! The possibilities are endless. The conflict can also vary depending on when it takes place. Maybe pre-Action it’s Justin trying to use his looks to win over Trent and allow himself greater opportunities in the game, but post-Action Justin just wants to be in a band. It practically creates itself.
