Jimmy Olsen/Kara Zor-El is the het pairing of Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) and James "Jimmy" Olsen from the DC Comics' Superman series and the related adaptations.

In Smallville, Kara develops a crush on Jimmy Olsen and they become friends. They also team up in a couple of episodes, even in a relationship briefly. Although they eventually break up and Jimmy gets back together with Chloe Sullivan.

Supergirl (TV series)

In Supergirl, James Olsen is actually one of Kara's love interests. He becomes a close friend and ally for her both at CatCo, personal life, and in her adventures as Supergirl. Although they shared a few kisses in the first season and were thought to have an actual romantic relationship in the second season, Kara broke it off with him within the first few episodes of the season. They remain friends and allies throughout the season.

Although not as popular as other Superman pairings are (for example: Lois/Clark), the Kara/Jimmy pairing can be found in various versions of Superman-related adaptations, such as the DCAU, Smallville, and Supergirl (TV series).

In Smallville, Kara/Jimmy sometimes appeared in the fandom - mostly to give them a happy ending for other pairings such as Chloe/Oliver and Chloe/Clark. More often it appeared as a gen relationship.

Supergirl (TV series)

With the release of the Supergirl TV series the pairing's popularity spiked, and making it one of the series top pairings and the top het pairing. The fandom termed the ship "Karolsen".

Fans often parallel the couple with WestAllen of The Flash.
