Jean Prior (also known as "Jaye", Jayekitty, or Phoenix) is the founder of [email protected], the oldest and longest continuously running e-mail list dedicated to Forever Knight. She founded it during her days attending Penn State University when she learned that Geraint Wyn Davies, of whom she was already a fan, would be starring in the show.

Since handing over the reins as moderator of FORKNI-L, she has sometimes called herself "Elder Stateskitty" when posting to the list.

Since the list's founding, Jean has participated in a variety of fandoms including Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Dragonriders of Pern, X-Men Comics, and most British science fiction and fantasy-based television series. Her fandom participation also includes regular attendance at the fandom-based convention Dragon*Con.

I have the distinction of being the list's founder back on December 9th, 1992. Yes, over 13 years ago, back when I was a sophomore at Penn State University, whose postmaster Bill Verity has been ever so kind to let this list retain its place on Penn State's mainframe long after my departure from PSU's hallowed halls.

I actually haven't managed to meet any of the FK actors, but I have been blessed with meeting a great number of people from this list, including random pouncings on people wearing list shirts at Dragon*Con a few years back. I consider this list to be a model of polite internet discourse, the way cool folks on the 'net should behave, and I've always been very proud of how my successors as listowners: Laurie Salopek, [Imajiru] , Don Fasig and McLisa, have followed through with my vision for the list.
