Heat Fic is the name in some fandoms, such as Dark Angel, for the story trope that a character feels an urge to have sex for biological reasons outside of their control (in other words, they go into heat). This may be because they are part cat, a werewolf, a wereanimal or an alpha or omega. Sex during this time may lead to pregnancy (even in males).
