Wax Jism, Blair has to go to extremes to save himself, Jim and Simon from a psychopath. Out of the trauma comes the realization of love. It's a tautly written story, with the guys actually sounding and behaving like (gasp!) guys. There is a powerful, visceral quality, both to the words and the situation.[1]

An author whose name sounds like a surfing product or a brand of Chinese chewing gum or a punk band. Inventive. Kicky. Distracting, distracting... okay, moving on to the story now....[...]
Why you should read this: Blair being resourceful and mesmerizing and angst-ridden; Jim being a big comforting watchdog type guy; dirty trauma; cleansing, post-traumatic boinking.
What might throw you off stride: There are a few clinkers, off-key notes, here and there. E.g., "Well, He Died With His Nikes On," doesn't strike me as something you'd be thinking when your friend was in mortal danger. But sometimes there are lumps in the batter and the cake is good anyway.[3]

Point One: Blair Sandburg is a magnet for trouble. That’s both canon and fanon. If there’s a psycho villain out there, Blair’s the one to whom he’ll gravitate.Point Two: Blair Sandburg is an obfuscator extraordinaire. He can verbally tap dance his way out of any situation, or persuade anyone of just about anything.
Point Three: Wax Jism can take these two canon and fanon conventions and play with them like a tiger does with a piece of bloody sirloin.
Why this must be read:
Blair gets the “neo-hippie witchdoctor punk” treatment most of the time in fic. He’s New Age. He’s sensitive. He’s Mr. “Can’t-we-all-just-get-along?” It's often forgotten in fic that he’s also the guy who knocked over a vending machine onto a militia member, taunted a serial killer while chained up, and defused a bomb on a rig when he could have just saved himself.
Knowing all of that, Wax Jism asks -- and answers -- the question: just what is Blair Sandburg capable of?[4]

Told in turns through the eyes of Simon, Jim and Blair, this story is intense and gritty. This is the Blair you see bits of in canon; the one who in times of crisis can get the job done. Waxjism only wrote three stories in TS and they are all pretty well ramped up on the intensity scale. Enjoy.[5]

I've always remembered this one for the vivid imagery and Blair having to work through the aftermath of the situation. Enjoyed re-reading it again! Extra kudos!
