Girls and the End of the World is a Puella Magi Madoka Magica doujinshi by Nobita. It is a canon divergence AU in which Akemi Homura must protect Kaname Madoka when the latter is targeted by precognitive magical girl Mikuni Oriko.
Plot Summary
Mami is killed by a magical girl and Sayaka goes after her to get revenge, even though Homura doesn't approve of her reckless behaviour. Kirika and Mikuni's goal is to kill Madoka to avert the destiny of the world.
Mikuni Oriko goes to find Madoka, she transforms and shows them her powers. She doesn't want to kill Sayaka as her target isn't her, but Sayaka nearly kills her and only loses because she was too contaminated to keep fighting. Oriko purifies her crystal to stop her from dying. Homura fights her and gets lectured about not giving up on Madoka for the sake of the world. Oriko asks Homura if she'll choose the world or her. She chooses Madoka and Oriko dies after telling her she's condemned the humanity to perish.
