Summaries
Summary from an unknown source:
The Enterprise was operating under sealed orders from Starfleet. Even Captain James T. Kirk didn't know the location co-ordinates of their destination. These had been programmed into the computer in the form of a coded message from Starfleet Command. All Kirk knew that he was to transport twelve scientists from Starbase 14 to the Top secret space station which was located somewhere near the Klingon border, a space station code named K-1.
Summary from a publisher's ad:
Kidnapped by Klingons, Kirk is believed dead, and Spock resigns. Then Kirk is rescued... [1]
Regarding Content
Author's Comments
From an interview with the author in 1993:
Q: How do you react to editor's criticism or reviews of your work?
A: Since there's a lot of myself in my stories (by which I mean I dig deep into myself to get the emotions I want to portray), then I do get hurt by by criticism, I think anyone would. Our stories are like our children, we love them since we created them. Having said that, I hope I can accept fair and just criticism. I know I am not the world's greatest writer and, if someone I admired as a writer, were to give me some pointers, I would actually be honoured. I think one of the biggest critics of my work is myself. A story in point is the Star Trek [story] FULL CIRCLE. A friend of mine rates it as one of her favourites but I can't even read it now, not because I don't like it but because I let myself get talked into rewriting the time scale from three years to a few months just in order to have the story accepted. I would never do that now because I know my original was better. Now, if an editor sent back a story with what I considered to be unjust constraints or criticism, then I would merely send it elsewhere. I usually let my friends read my stories before I type them, just because they are seeing the story through different eyes than my own and I always listen to their comment ... even if I don't act on them. Reactions and Reviews
1988
A routine adventure story: a secret Star Base, Klingons, Zap! Kirk and Spock both think each other dead. The story follows along predictable lines until the conclusion and there is no real oomph in this one at all! [4]
