Fanpoodle is a disparaging term for an extreme fan.
Examples of Use
Letter format is a popular style for rants at Fanficrants (especially the ubiquitous "Open Letter to __" format). Such posts are often addressed to fanbrats, fanpoodles, fantards or fantwats. The usage of these terms is not unproblematic, as some people point out that some of these terms contribute to an ableist and misogynist mentality. [1]
It's probably just nostalgia, being reminded of the "good old days" of the beginning of S/X before the fandom was overwhelmed by fanpoodles and badfic, but whatever it is, I went ahead and bought this zine, already knowing its faults. [2]
I mean, does Stephen King have rabid fanpoodles? It might be one of those quirks of fandom that big-name fanfic writers are simultaneously distant public figures and highly accessible potential friends. [3]
