Duncan/Methos, sometimes referred to as just D/M or DM/M, is the slash pairing between the Highlander characters Duncan 'Mac' MacLeod and Methos. While Duncan/Methos is the primary slash ship in the fandom, it's unusual in that its popularity started in the later half of the series, rather than being a juggernaut ship from the beginning of the show's run as would be expected in modern fandom or even other contemporary TV fandoms. This is due to Highlander fandom's beginnings as a more gen and original character focused fandom.
The ship is also notable for being one where it's not uncommon for fans to have a strong preference for one character over the other and not ship the pairing equally in both directions. This discrepancy is mostly related to the fact than many fans were mostly interested in Methos and not the canon as a whole, only watching the episodes in which he appeared and therefore giving them a different take on Duncan's character.
