A fanbook, or fan book, is a book/booklet created by a fan of a canon work. It might refer to a doujinshi or a zine, and it's commonly used interchangeably with these terms.
In K-Pop, a fanbook often refers to a zine created with the intention of gifting it to the idol, for example as a birthday gift, or to celebrate a group anniversary or concert. These can contain fan art, supportive messages from fans, and even tweets. These are then either sent to the entertainment labels or given to the idol directly at a fan sign event. In K-Pop, this is often considered different from a "zine," since those are for fans to view, while fanbooks are intended for idols. Fanbooks are popular in Korean fandom. International fans will sometimes coordinate with fansites to translate fan letters and messages and get it delivered to the group or member. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with zine. They can also sometimes simply refer to books released by the companies for their fan clubs.
