Dulce Periculum is a Yassen/Alex story by wewillalwaysenduphere. It is set in The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea universe and incomplete.
Summary:
Once Yassen Gregorovich had handed SCORPIA over to his heir Alex Rider, he vanished from the stage of international crime. Yassen had amassed enough money and power to buy his freedom. He had built himself a dacha outside of St. Petersburg that was more a fortress than a home. He can hide from the world, various intelligence agencies, and his former allies. Until his past comes calling.

This story is mostly based on The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by pongnosis, but it also considers Pyrrhic Victories and Closer Contact by galimau canon.

Yes, I admit it, this is probably (definitely) my favorite Devil!spinoff. The transition between Devil and this is seamless, the writing is beautiful, the relationships incredibly layered, I adore the OCs, it addresses the myriad manifestations of trauma… I can gush about this one for a while. I’ll try to restrain myself. The whole thing fits really well with the atmosphere of Devil and the exploration of Yassen and Alex’s relationship as Alex gets older is really, really good and the emotional payoff is excellent. Mature, incomplete. Covers events after chapter 96 of Devil and beyond, though the main thrust of the plot takes place towards the end and after the epilogue.[1]
