Dracaena Somnolenta is a for-charity fanzine centered on the character Kokomi from Genshin Impact. When complete, the project plans to donate all profits to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation[1].

The interest check for this project ran from September 28, 2021[2] to October 21, 2021[3], garnering 182 responses - some statistics from which were shared in a Twitter thread. Mod applications for the project opened October 31, 2021[4] and closed November 28, 2021[5], while contributor applications ran from December 25, 2021 to January 30, 2022[6].
During the creation period, in celebration of Kokomi's February 22 birthday, the zine mod team released a Choose Your Own Adventure game hosted on a dedicated happybirthdaykokomi Carrd. For April Fools' Day, they released a meme-y emote pack[7]. Then, for the month of May, they hosted a "Kokomi x MerMay" prompt list/event[8].
Preorders opened on September 10, 2022 with a scheduled end date of October 10, 2022[9], which later was extended to October 31, 2022[10]. For October 31, there was a 10% discount available[11]. The following preorder pricing tiers were offered:
- A Dream ($15 USD): PDF + DIY Paper Doll Pattern
- The Divine Priestess ($30 USD): Physical Zine + PDF + DIY Paper Doll Pattern + Bookmark + Random Print
- The Grand Strategy ($45 USD): Physical Zine + PDF + DIY Paper Doll Pattern + Bookmark + Random Print + Random Stickers + Acrylic Charm
- Pearl of Watatsumi ($60 USD): Physical Zine + PDF + DIY Paper Doll Pattern + Bookmark + Prints + Stickers + Acrylic Charm + Wooden Charm + Enamel Pin + Memopad
- Orobashi's Legacy ($75 USD): Physical Zine + PDF + DIY Paper Doll Pattern + Bookmark + Prints + Stickers + Acrylic Charm + Wooden Charm + Enamel Pin + Memopad + Holo Totebag
Three stretch goals were included in the project: a shaker charm at 75 orders, an enamel pin at 150 orders, and a dakimakura case at 250 orders[12]. Only the first stretch goal was announced successful, on October 6, 2022[13]. A few hours before preorders were scheduled to close, the zine Twitter account stated that the second goal was less than 20 orders away[14].
The zine did two merch collaborations with other Genshin Impact zines. Firstly, a triple-collab with the Eternal zine centered on Raiden Shogun and the Yatagarasu zine centered on Kujou Sara, where anyone making physical orders from all three zines would get a standee featuring all three characters[15]. Secondly, a collab with the Teyvat Kids Zine, where anyone making physical orders from both zines would get a lollipop charm featuring Kokomi[16]. The zine team also hosted promotional giveaway where physical zine orders had a chance of being signed by Kokomi's English-language voice actor Risa Mei[17].
As of Jan 11, 2023, this zine project is still in its production period.
