Cinderella is one of the classic Disney films that was inspired by the fairy tale of the same name and had two sequels.

Canon

The first film was released in 1950, which eventually had two direct-to-video sequels, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (2002) and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time (2007).

The first and third films mainly focused on Cinderella as a character and her relationship with her Step-Family as well as her Prince Charming. However, the second film is actually more focused on the step-sister, Anastasia Tremaine, Cinderella's step-sister. The third film contradicted the second one, which many fans disliked since it had already reformed Anastasia and her love interest, The Baker disappeared. However many still adore the third film because it gave more depth to the Prince character as well as a few other characters in the series.

Characters & Shipping

Cinderella is popular character in the Disney Fandom, and is often paired up in different Disney or Non/Disney crossovers, for example Cinderella/Beast (crossover with Beauty and the Beast). Femslash among the Disney Princesses is somewhat common. Otherwise, Cinderella is often paired up with Prince Charming.

After the release of Cinderella II & III, the character Anastasia, one of the "evil step-sisters", became quite popular with the fandom since the character was reformed and given more in depth storyline, showing her sympathy/regret for hurting Cinderella and her interest in finding her own true love. She is shown to have made friends with Cinderella in the end, while her mother and sister have not. She's often shipped with The Baker or like Cinderella, other crossover characters.
