Damien is an television series based on the horror film series The Omen by David Seltzer, which serves as a direct sequel to the 1976 film and ignores its various sequels.[1] It ran one season for 10 episodes, being canceled by A&E on May 20, 2016.[2]
Even with a large cast already known for several previous works, the series was heavily criticized in its writing and development, which culminated in its abrupt end.
The series presents Bradley James as Damien Thorn, a 30-year-old war photographer who has forgotten his Satanic past. Barbara Hershey as Ann Rutledge, who has protected Damien all his life, helping him embrace his Antichrist side.[3] And Omid Abtahi as Amani Golkar Damien's close friend.
Fandom
Due in part to Bradley James' previous role of King Arthur in Merlin, there are many crossover and some fusion fics for the series, both with Merlin and with similar canons such as the TV show Lucifer and The Omen films. There is little ongoing activity in the fandom centering on the series, likely due to its short run and small audience.
The majority of fanworks for Damien are short gen stories, with pre-series and post-series stories outpacing missing scenes or other canon explorations.
