Bradley James is an actor mainly known within the fandom community for playing King Arthur on BBC's TV series Merlin. After the series ended he moved to the U.S. where he had scattered roles, including a love interest in iZombie and the title role in The Omen TV sequel Damien as well as a small part in Underworld: Blood Wars. Back in the UK he played twins in the BBC series Bounty Hunters and a main role in Medici: Masters of Florence.

Fandom

Bradley's use of social media has been sporadic since he developed a fandom through Merlin, but he does communicate with fans through his Twitter and Instagram accounts. He sometimes takes questions while waiting in airports, and shares pictures related to his sports interests and travels. He does not discuss politics and has only rarely taken part in larger Internet activities or charity promotion, the ALS ice bucket challenge being an exception as he was challenged by two friends including fellow Merlin actor Tom Hopper. He added a request for donations to the World Cancer Research Fund, Age UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital and challenged fellow Merlin actor Katie McGrath to also take part.

He has on a few occasions shared images of fan art or photos sent to him through his social media. Most fan activity continues to revolve around his Merlin work and often pairs him with his co-star Colin Morgan with whom he continues to be friends after the series ended in 2013. Because of Colin's absence from social media the two do not communicate in public. Therefore many of his fans were excited when reports emerged that Bradley had attended the closing performance of Colin's play Gloria in 2017 and a brief clip surfaced of them speaking along with fellow Merlin actor Rupert Young at the after-party.
