DameChina was an early Harry Potter fanfiction author best known for her popular parody story "The Britney Spears Cliché". As Headmistress Abby, she was also the owner of the interactive Harry Potter fansite Hogwarts School of Magic.
"The Britney Spears Cliché" was nominated for a Golden Toad award in Fall 2000 in the category "Best Cliché" and reportedly had hundreds of reviews at FanFiction.Net.[1] DameChina and her cousin Dragonwings also wrote fanfiction together as The Weasley Twinettes, and published two stories: "Hicks, Sticks, and Ugly Chicks" in March 2001 and "Potions, Poems and Present-Day Problems" in May 2001. The fanfiction she wrote as DameChina or Abbacus is no longer online.
She was a member of METMA and DSE[2] and was a Harry/Hermione shipper.[3]
DameChina ran Hogwarts School of Magic as "Headmistress Abby", though she briefly turned the site over to Dragonwings in secret, and remained active on the site until it she closed it due to lack of help in March 2002.[1][4]
She left fandom after the closure of Hogwarts School of Magic, writing in 2003: "With the website gone, I had a brief obsession with trying to be a mod or something of the sort. Once I realized how ridiculous I was being and that I'd never really fit in with those adults, I left fandom altogether."[5]
