Fanart Use Policy
Caladan's LiveJournal profile states:
- "If you want to use the pictures for icons and lj layouts, that's perfectly fine, you don't have to ask me if you don't want to. However, please, don't use the commissioned artwork. I don't own the pics so I cannot give permission for their usage. Also, please, don't use the pictures for bashing, trashing, mocking different ships or characters. Other than that, feel free to use them. :)"
Reviews of Caladan's Art
I was showing some artwork to my wife a while back, and after she’d come across several of Caladan’s pieces she mentioned something about them that really hit home for me. She said the thing she loved about these drawings is that, when you look at Caladan’s depictions of the wizarding world, it begins to make sense that the characters who live in that world would have no idea how to dress as Muggles. I love that thought because it captures for me how incredibly real and magical the wizarding world is in Caladan’s art. I tend to forget how distinct the styles and art of wizards are in the books, largely because of the much heavier Muggle influences in the movies (and the influence of the movies on most fan art). But the way that Caladan draws wizards makes Harry’s world real, and magical, and brings it to life for me in a way that no other artist can.
