- Breakdown Lives: a popular fix-it AU for the Prime series, as many fans believe his death was unfair. Breakdown Deserved Better has been said a lot.
- Autobot Breakdown: a sub-trope of the Breakdown Lives AU where he joins Knock Out in defecting from the Decepticons to become an Autobot, which Knock Out did only after Breakdown's death in canon.
- Protective Breakdown: where he's protective of Knock Out, usually, but also of some of the human characters if he's not a Decepticon.
