Blank is a supporting character in the Square Enix video game Final Fantasy IX.

Canon

A self-confessed enigmatic lady-killer, Blank's impact on Final Fantasy IX is cut tragically short when he gets snared by a Plant Spider and subsequently petrified in Evil Forest.

He gets healed later at the hands of his 'bro' Marcus, however the majority of his personality shines through in these first few hours of gameplay, where he's obviously willing to sacrifice himself for others, and can easily tell the difference between right and wrong.

Blank will never be a main character (despite what some AUs say), but as a support, he really shines.

Fandom

Among the three original 'Tantalus boys', Blank is generally considered the most popular. Whether this is down to sheer looks, or the fact that his personality is the closest to Zidane's is objective, however Blank enjoys the occasional fic appearance.

Shipping

Blank isn't often shipped due to how obscure a character he is, however he's still more popular than Marcus or Cinna. Ships with either of his two 'bro's can be expected, as well as pairings with Baku or Zidane.

Blank's relationship with Ruby is very hot and cold, so while a ship could happen (and possibly has happened), they might not be seen as compatible.

Lastly, Blank can be shipped with any of the main characters due to a few AU fics that have him and Zidane switch places for the entirety of the storyline. Just don't expect Blank/Dagger. Apparently she's not even his type.
