Luo Binghe/Shen Qingqiu, more commonly referred to in fandom by the portmanteau Bingqiu, is the central canon ship in The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System.

Common Tropes in Fanworks

• Modern AU - moving from the xianxia setting of the fictional novel Proud Immortal Demon Way within Scum Villain's Self Saving System into the modern world where the main character, Shen Yuan, previously lived in canon.
• Teacher/Student Relationship - Bingqiu is canonically a student/teacher relationship with Shen Yuan|Shen Qingqui as Luo Binghe's teacher. Luo Binghe almost always refers to Shen Yuan|Shen Qingqui as "Shizun", meaning teacher or master.
• Angst with a Happy Ending - Angst with a Happy Ending is exactly what it says in the name. In canon Shen Yuan (under duress) pushes Luo Binghe into the "Endless Abyss" a plane filled with monsters and almost no way to escape. When Luo Binghe escapes the Endless Abyss, Shen Yuan, fearing being tortured by Luo Binghe, fakes his own death by actually dying and escaping in a pre-prepared plant body. Many fanfics use this already angsty situation, or make up their own, but it often has a happy ending in the Bingqiu pairing.
• Alternate Universe - No System - In canon "The System" is a non-human seemingly sentient entity that forces Shen Yuan to act in specific ways or else face penalties. In fanfic without the System, Shen Yuan, for example, doesn't need to push Luo Binghe into the Endless Abyss. No System fics are often less angsty.
